A couple of days after he received Indian cinema's highest honour Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. Although the actor's wife Latha Rajinikanth said that the Superstar was well and has gotten himself admitted only for a full-body check-up at the hospital, fans were worried about his health
The latest bulletin that was released from Kauvery Hospital in Chennai revealed that Rajinikanth was admitted on October 28 following an episode of giddiness and that he was thoroughly evaluated by the expert panel of doctors and was advised to undergo Carotid Artery revascularization.
Superstar Rajinikanth underwent a Carotid Artery revascularization procedure on Friday (October29) and is likely to be discharged from the hospital after a few days, said the statement.

Earlier, Ma. Subramanian, Minister for Health and Family Welfare of Tamil Nadu, shared to the press that he has spoken to the actor’s family and they said that he was completely doing fine. Rajinikanth's team also advised people to not believe in rumours and assured that the Superstar is doing fine.
Rajinikanth's upcoming film, 'Annaatthe', is slated to release in theatres on November 4, coinciding with the festive date of Deepavali. Directed by Siruthai Siva, the film has been produced by Sun Pictures. Apart from the Superstar, the movie stars Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Khushbu, Soori, Sathish, Jagapathi Babu and many others in prominent roles. The music for the film will be composed by D Imman. On October 27, 'Annaatthe' was screened at a private studio in Chennai. The actor watched the film with his family at the private screening on Wednesday.
