Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta audio launch is happening today (December 9) in a grand manner at a private college in the outskirts of Chennai. The songs of the film are composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the first two singles from the film are already chartbusters.
The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced by Sun Pictures with Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Sasikumar, and others, being part of the cast.
Karthik Subbaraj's speech from the event:
"Personally, this is my dream come true moment. I didn't know that I will be doing a film with Rajini sir. He is the reason why I entered cinema. Rajini sir is the only one who appreciates with heart.
2.0 talked about positive aura and its impact, and I feel he (Rajinikanth) has the biggest positive aura, in his real life. While appreciating my work in Jigarthanda, he spoke to me and asked me if I had a script for him. This happened in 2014 and that changed my life totally. It is the biggest moment of my life.
While shooting, I will be working on one side, but on the other side, my eyes will always be attracted towards him. One of my assistants, Bala was the one who co-ordinated with Rajini sir in the shooting spot and I even fought with him once, because he had the opportunity to interact with Rajini sir for more time. I was jealous (laughs). When I narrated this film's script to Rajini sir, he said, Indha kadhaya naan mattum dhane panna mudiyum.
He did Kaala and made the massive announcement about his political entry. Even if that gave me a sense of happiness, I was pretty sad that he wouldn't be acting anymore. No matter, how many films I do, or even if I get an Oscar, my career would have been incomplete without a Thalaivar film.
When I met Kalanithi Maran sir, he asked me to do a pucca Thalaivar padam. Vijay Sethupathi once told me that he would do the villain role if I get an opportunity to direct Rajini sir. That has happened now. Me and Bobby are Thalaivar veriyargal.
While watching a Thalaivar film in Madurai, my dad had already seen the film twice and he took me this time. It was his third time at the theatre. I fell down in the theatre while entering. When my dad asked me if I was hurt, I didn't mind about it and told, 'Seri Thalaivar vara poraru... Vaa'. ", said Karthik.
