As we all are aware, Karthick Naren debuted with Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru (D16) in late 2016, and the film turned out to be a commercial and critical success. He shot to immediate fame and turned out to be a promising talent. 

Soon after, an impressed Gautham Menon met the young talent and they came out with a surprise announcement that GVM would be producing Karthick's next. Naragasooran was then announced and the film went under production. 

Towards the end of production, we witnessed an unpleasant fallout between Gautham and Karthick. Their twitter dispute went on to become a trending controversy at that point in time. Very soon we saw Gautham Menon walk out of the project. 

Today, at the trailer release and press meet of Naragasooran, Karthick Naren opened up about the controversy. He said, "After D-16, I met Gautham Menon and he came forward to produce Naragasooran. Later, due to certain financial issues, he walked out of the project.

What happened at that time was momentary and there is no problem right now. I don't wish to comment anything else on this as TFPC will be handling the issue."
