After receiving mixed reviews for his previous outing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar is back with his next directorial and production venture. Dharma Productions has signed on some of the biggest Bollywood stars of this generation for their next historical film. 

The film has been titled Takht and it is written by Sumit Roy and Hussain Haidry. Karan Johar revealed the cast list and it has given a sweet surprise for all fans of cinema. Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Jhanvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor will be a part of this epic Mughal period based film. 

Karan made the announcement on Twitter saying, "An incredible story embedded in history...An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne...A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession...TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE...."

The film is expected to release in the year 2020 and the expectations are already sky-rocketing! Watch this space for more details.
