We last saw her in the 2017 film Simran. Throughout this year, Kangana has been busy with the shooting of her upcoming films Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Mental Hai Kya.
Now we have some interesting information from the sets of Manikarnika. Kangana has clearly been quite kicked about this film in which she plays the Rani of Jhansi. This film is directed by Krish, who is currently helming the NTR Biopic in Telugu.
However, the latest reports suggest that Kangana has now taken over the direction of Manikarnika for the remaining patch-work portions. Now that Krish is completely involved in the direction of the NTR biopic, with the help of the writers and other assistants, Kangana has turned into the director of Manikarnika.
She has taken to doing this as she doesn't want to delay the release of this film. It is slated for a January 2019 release. Shankar-Ehsaan and Loy are composing music for this film produced by Zee Studios.

Popular director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari debuted in Bollywood with Nil Battey Sannata, and followed it up with Amma Kanakku, the Tamil remake of the same.
She received much acclaim for the aforementioned films and directed her third venture, Bareilly Ki Barfi in 2017. Post this, we had recently reported that her next film will be about Kabaddi and family values.
The official announcement on her next is now out. The Kabaddi film has been titled as Panga, and Kangana Ranaut will be playing the lead.
Ashwiny took to Twitter and shared this news as she tweeted, "My existing reality is a reflection of my dear ones belief in me. From the team backed by its families. Presenting 'Panga' with Kangana Ranaut, Jassi Gill, Neena Gupta. Produced by Fox Star Hindi. In cinemas in 2019,"
