The Supreme Court yesterday (24th October) made it official that it is upto the Central and the State Governments to decide whether to play National Anthem in cinema halls and other public places. The SC Justice also added that an individual need not have to stand up at a cinema hall to be perceived as a patriotic citizen.
 

On that note, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has shared his op''inion on Twitter about this issue. He has posted, "Singapore plays it's national anthem every midnight.Likewise do so on DD. Do not force or test my patriotism at various random places. The reason Singapore crops up in arguments is because it is a benovelent dictatorship according to some critics. Do we we want that. No pls"
