The MeToo movement is the current trending topic on the Internet with many shocking allegations being made against leading actors, directors, music directors, singers, lyricists, doctors, and many others. Singer Chinmayi is taking bold steps in sharing the stories of the victims who maintain their anonymity.
Earlier this morning (October 12), Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan opened up on his stand on this MeToo movement and Chinmayi's tweets. When he was asked to comment about the issue in today's press meet, the Makkal Needhi Maiam President stated, "The accused should only come out and speak. They are only answerable and it won't be right if others, who are not associated, comment on this issue. If the MeToo movement happens in a honest and truthful manner, definitely it is a welcoming change.
The movement shouldn't be diluted or make any wrong accusations. If the movement is genuine and justifiable, then it isn't wrong. The problems faced by women in this society should definitely come out and people should know. We have come across many women related problems since our Kannagi days."
