Director Vetri Maaran, known for his rooted themes and raw filmmaking style, was last seen directing the Dhanush-starrer epic Asuran that also had Manju Warrier, Teejay, Ken Karunas, Pasupathy, and others in crucial roles. For the unversed, he had directed a segment of the Netflix anthology, Paava Kadhaigal.
He has a bunch of projects in his kitty next, which also includes an upcoming film with Soori. Vetri Maaran will be helming comedy actor Soori in an upcoming film that is based on a poem written by lyricist Na. Muthukumar.
The yet-to-be titled project kickstarted its shoot a few days ago in Sathyamangalam. Sources say GV Prakash’s sister Bhavani Sre, who impressed us with her performances in Ka Pe Ranasingam and the recently released Paavakadhaigal has been roped in to play the female lead though an official announcement is yet to come by.
Now, the latest update is that popular music director Ilaiyaraaja started composing for Vetrimaaran - Soori project in his new recording studio at Kodambakkam. The maestro, who was involved in a dispute with Prasad Studios over the use of his recording theatre in its premises, has now opened his own studio.
