VJ Chitra's demise had shocked everyone. She was popular for the role of Mullai in the hit serial Pandian Stores. She died by suicide in a hotel in the city. Subsequently, her husband Hemnath was arrested for abetment of suicide and was later released on bail.
Chitra's parents had recently visited the hotel in which she had stayed and the one in which she had taken the extreme step to retrieve her belongings and broke down. Now, in an interview they told us that everything about Hemnath was a lie and further allege that he had done something to her in the hotel room and escaped by jumping out the window since the room was on the ground floor.
Chitra was just 28 at the time of her untimely demise. Her first and final movie Calls had released some time back and made fans emotional.
