Rajinikanth is currently working on his 165th film, with Karthik Subbaraj at the helm of things. The film has an ensemble cast that includes Vijay Sethupathi, Simran, Trisha, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, etc., While Anirudh is composing the music, Tirru is the cinematographer for Karthik Subbaraj's magnum opus. 

The breaking update on this film is that actor Guru Somasundaram, who has won the national award for his role in Joker, is now a part of this film. Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bobby Simha, who are also a part of this film, have won national awards before. With so many proven stars on board. the expectations for this film has soared sky high.

If things go as per schedule, this film will release in 2019. This project is produced by Kalanidhi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures.
