For the past one year, there has been a lot of allegations against the management of the Tamil Film Producers' Council, with a section of producers demanding that Vishal resigns from the President's post because of mismanagement. We saw dramatic events take place as the office building was sealed upon pressure from the protesting faction, and Vishal breaking it only to be kept under custody for some time few months back.

Post the allegations, the Tamil Nadu State Government, sent a show cause notice to the organisation, and has now appointed a special officer to take care of the proceedings of the council. A District Registrar, N Sekar, was the officer who led the committee that submitted a record on the irregularities  running in the TFPC.

N Sekar, from now on, will be at the helm of affairs at TFPC, and will take decisions on their behalf now. The previous committee has been completely dissolved and Mr. Sekar will be the deciding authority on matters regarding the association.

This is not a good news for Vishal and Co. since all the office bearers have been dissolved. The new officer is expected to conduct elections before his one-year term ends. Some of the allegations against the management were mishandling of accounts, improper planning by anti-piracy cell, and more.

A few producers like Dhananjayan G of BOFTA were not happy with the decision, and he tweeted: "It's a sad day for @TFPCTN & a shame, a Govt.officer is going to manage the affairs of Producers' Council stating the association was mismanaged. When 'selfish' interests over-power the common interest, this is what happens. It's going to be a long haul before a good solution ✍️"

As per latest reports, Vishal and his team will be moving to the High Court on Monday(April 28), seeking a stay on the appointment of the officer. Stay tuned for further development.
