Actor John Kokken has been receiving tremendous praise for his role as the antagonist 'Vembuli' in Pa Ranjith's sports drama 'Sarpatta Parambarai' which was released on Amazon Prime Video on July 22. Although he's worked on many movies including 'Osthe' and 'Veeram', this particular role catapulted him to fame and apart from Pa Ranjith and a few other members, he has only Thala Ajith to express his thanks and gratitude.
John Kokken, who dedicated his role 'Vembuli' to Thala Ajith said in an exclusive interview to Behindwoods that he has given him a lot of advice during the shoot of 'Veeram' (2014). "Ajith Sir said, 'Everything depends on time. Time will come. Focus on your dream. Life will have many ups and downs. Just keep going forward'. I worked with him for 15 days on the sets of 'Veeram'. That was my biggest learning experience."
Years later, he received a call from him after the release of Pa Ranjith's movie. John Kokken vividly remembers what happened that night. He said he was on a shoot at night when his phone rang. "I was sleepy when I picked up the call. When I saw that it was Ajith Sir calling, I was very happy and my drowsiness went away," he said.
An ecstatic John also noted that he felt great about Ajith's call, especially "at a time when the most important film of his life was releasing." "I will never forget this in my whole life. This is a huge deal for me. I feel very happy even when I am talking about this now," he added.
Currently John Kokken has multiple projects in hand including 'KGF: Chapter 2' and another Kannada film 'Kabzaa'. When asked as to what movies he's signed in Tamil, he refused to reveal them but said, "I am working on two important movies and official announcement on it will arrive soon."
