Ever since the implementation of GST, the theatre ticket prices have gone on a rise. Recently, Abirami Theatres, decided to remove the internet convenience charges, so that it will make the ticket prices come down to a more reasonable rate.
Now, the latest to join is Ega Cinemas, in Kilpauk, who have slashed their ticket prices. After GST, Ega Cinemas's ticket rates increased to 112, 106 and 100 rupees from 95,90 and 85 respectively. However, now the theatre officials have revised the theatre ticket prices back to their old rates. While the main screen will have ticket prices of 95 and 85, the side screen (Anu Ega), will have 95 and 90 as the ticket prices. If you book the ticket through online, the net charges would be applicable.
In simple words, Ega cinemas have switched back to their old ticket rates, and this has indeed impressed the audience.
