'Thandagan' is an upcoming film featuring actor Abhishek Vinod in the lead role. The film also stars Manochitra, Anju and 'Ratsasan' fame Saravanan. The film is written and directed by debutante K. Mahendran. The film is produced by V.Elagovan under the banner Royal Film Factory and features music by Syam Mohan M.M.

The audio launch of the film happened recently, which was attended by director R.V Udhayakumar who had given Tamil film industry many classic films like Rajini's 'Ejamaan', Kamal's 'Singaravelan', Vijayakanth's 'Chinna Gounder' and much more.

During his speech, he said "When actress Deepa was talking about the director, she referred to him as father. It makes me feel happy. The world thinks cinema is a very enigmatic industry, but it is like a big family."

He later added, "I want to share something here, something that I have not shared anywhere yet. I introduced actress Soundarya in my film 'Ponnumani'. She called me as 'Anna' (brother), I was a little uncomfortable with it at first and asked her to refer to me as 'Sir' in front of others, but from then I saw her as my own sister and she kept calling me 'anna'."

"She always had a special respect and love towards me. While she was working in 'Ponnumani', I recommended her for her next film with Chiranjeevi. After that she became a huge star, even then I was the one who would travel from Chennai to Hyderabad to stand by her during various problems often." stated Udhayakumar.

He also said "She called me during her house warming function, but I couldn't attend it. She then called me for her marriage, which also I couldn't attend unfortunately." He then added "The Tamil hit film 'Chandramukhi' was remade in Kannada as 'Apthamitra' in which Soundarya had acted.  After that film, she called me one day and said that "This will be my last film. I won't be acting anymore as I am two months pregnant." Me, my wife and her had a conversation for 1 hour over the phone."

"The next day, I was watching the television at 7:30 am and I was shocked to see that she has died in an accident. I couldn't attend any event that she had invited me to, I could only make it to her funeral. When I went there, I saw her beautiful house. I entered the house and inside I saw a big picture of me, hanging in her home. I couldn't control my tears."

He then explained "I am telling about incident because people in cinema could be like family too.  When Deepa called the director as 'appa' I felt happy and he should bee proud of it, as she trusts and respect him that much"
