Actor-Director Mahendran is in critical condition and has been hospitalized today, March 27. The director’s son John Mahendran posted a tweet requesting fans and followers to pray for the veteran’s speedy recovery.

Mahendran is the writer-director of path-breaking Tamil films like ‘Nenjathai Killadhey’, ‘Udhiri Pookal’ and ‘Mulum Malarum’. The director turned actor has recently acted in films like the Atlee-directed Theri, Priyadarshan’s Nimir and the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer ‘Seethakathi’.
Mahendran was last seen as an actor in the Karthik Subbaraj directed ‘Petta’ and has also played a role in the A.L Vijay directed 'Watchman'. We, at Behindwoods, pray for the filmmaker’s full recovery.
