Recently, actor Suriya dropped a big news that he is opting to release his next biggie ‘Soorarai Pottru’ directly on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Although this decision has got a mixed response from the fans, the theatre owners are clearly unhappy with this decision.
Now, director Hari has released a new statement, which is a letter to Suriya. Hari and Suriya have worked together in various movies like ‘Vel’, ‘Aaru’ and the 3 ‘Singam’ movies. Hari, in his letter, has asked Suriya to reconsider his decision on the OTT release.
Hari’s statement read “As a director who has worked with you in various movies, I wish to state a few things. First of all, as a fan, I would definitely wish to see your films in a theatre, not on an OTT platform.”
“For all the films that we’ve made together, there has been a splendid response from the audience in the theatres. The applause from the Fans and theatres made us attain this great height, let’s not forget that.”
“Cinema, as a profession, is very divine. It is like a God to us. God can be anywhere, but it should be at a temple known as theatre. There is also a recognition of the maker's creativity and hard work.”
“I am aware of the pain of being a producer. If you still reconsider your decision, your name and fame will remain immortal, until the end of Cinema,” signed off Hari.
