"MY HEROES ARE ALWAYS LEFTIST AT HEART", SAYS DULQUER'S DIRECTOR

"My heroes are always Leftist at heart", said the CIA (Comrade in America) director Amal Neerad. The film is the third Malayalam film in 2017 having a Leftist hero after Oru Mexican Aparatha and Sakhavu. When asked if he was following a trend and wanted to reap the benefits of the recent success of films highlighting Communist ideologies, Amal said that his movie was supposed to release last year and so it was definitely not following the trend. The director also added that even his previous film 'Iyyobinte Pusthakam' had a Communist hero in it.

Talking about the acceptance of Communist films in Kerala, he said that such films have been a success from the very beginning. He also pointed out that there are many Right wing supporters in Malayalam film industry, and the reason for the comparatively less number of Right ideology movies, can only be explained by them.
