May 10th is an important day in the annals of twenty-first century Tamil cinema, as the industry saw the entry of raw energy and innocence in the form of sibling duo Selvaraghavan and Dhanush's debut film, Thulluvadho Ilamai, where the former wrote the story and the latter had starred as the film's protagonist. The film was directed by Kasthuriraja and released on May 10, 2002.
The film's commercial success had catupulted many upcoming and young talents into the big league. The names include the film's writer Selvaraghavan, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and most notably, actor Dhanush, who played the lead role. Dhanush went on from being a new actor in the block to one of the most top billed stars of the nation. In his illustrious seventeen year old career, the actor had won the National award in 2012 for his performance as a rookie cockfighter in the Vetrimaaran-helmed Aadukalam.
Dhanush had captured the netizens' imagination through the song 'Kolaveri Di', for which the actor had crooned and written the lyrics. The actor had managed to become a viral sensation during a time when internet explosion was at it's nascent stage. The actor had broken his own viral record with the 2018 song 'Rowdy Baby' from Maari-2, which was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and sung by Dhanush, along with Dhee.
