Actress Deepika Padukone was last seen in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed historical epic Padmaavat. The actor will be next seen in Raazi-director Meghna Gulzar's next film, Chhapaak, in which the star will portray the role of an acid attack survivor.
Meanwhile, it is official that the actress will be part of her husband Ranveer Singh's next sports drama 83, written and directed by Kabir Khan. 83 is the fictional retelling of the Kapil Dev-led Indian cricket team's emphatic win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England. The actress will be essaying the role of Romi Dev, Kapil Dev's wife, in the film. This film will be Deepika Padukone's first film with Ranveer Singh after the couple's marriage.
This information was posted in the official Twitter account of the filmm's male lead, Ranveer Singh. The film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment, in association with Madhu Mantena, Kabir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala.
The film also stars Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Sahil Khattar, Kollywood star Jiiva and others in crucial roles. 83 is all set to release on April 10, 2020 in four languages, namely Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi
