In Darbar, Superstar Rajinikanth is paired alongside Lady Superstar Nayanthara. Also, Yogi Babu, Jeeva, Nivetha Thomas, Jatin Sarna, Prateik Babbar, Nawab Shah, baby Manasvi Kottachi and others will be seen in prominent roles.
Darbar's music is composed by Anirudh and Santhosh Sivan has cranked the camera. The editor for the movie is Sreekar Prasad. Actor Rajinikanth has completed the dubbing works of the movie and the audio was officially launched on the 7th of December.
In the Darbar Trailer Launch press meet, when asked about why there was such a gap of duration on why Rajini did not act in a cop's role, the veteran actor mentioned that he did not particularly like acting in Cop roles, as it involves strict and dutiful facades. Rajinikanth mentioned that he wished to act in entertaining and joyful roles, rather than cop roles.
