CORONAVIRUS THREAT: KERALA CM CALLS FOR A TEMPORARY SHUTDOWN OF THEATRES

The Coronavirus threat has evoked fear amongst people across the world and India has reportedly recorded over forty cases of people being tested positive for the virus.

The covid-19 virus has had a major impact in the film industry too, which has resulted in the postponement of major releases such as the new James Bond installment No Time to Die and the shoot of several films being cancelled due to the impending threat.

At a recent press conference, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, accompanied by health minister KK Shailaja, addressed the precautionary measures that are being taken by the government to prevent the outbreak. During the event, Pinarayi Vijayan requested theatre owners to temporarily close all operations till March 31.

It must be noted that over 15 cases of Coronavirus have been reported in Kerala so far and three people have been recovered from the disease, thereby reducing the count to 12. The CM had also announced that classes and exams of students till 7th standard will be postponed till March 31.
