With the Film Employees’ Federation of South India (FEFSI) announcing that all shootings will be suspended during the lockdown period, TV channels have faced a major setback, as new episodes depend on daily shoots for their telecast.

But some channels have found an opportunity in this obstacle, as their vault of old television shows gets opened. Recently, Doordarshan announced the encore telecast of their 1987 serial Ramayan and the superhero series Shaktiman.

Now, Sun TV has also followed suit, as they will be retelecasting family dramas Metti Oli, which ran for three years (2002-05), and the Ramya Krishnan starrer soap opera Thangam. Starting from April 1, Metti Oli and Thangam will be airing on 1 PM and 3 PM respectively.
