We had earlier reported that the fare of cinema tickets in the neighboring state of Karnataka is likely to come down and the talks had been initiated in this regard.
In a recent development, CM Siddaramaiah has announced that his government will issue orders to cap movie tickets at Rs 200 from May 2017. This will hold good for films of all languages.
When asked about the multiplex owners who are going to be unhappy over this decision, the CM was quoted as saying that once the orders are issued, everyone has to follow them. “If they don't, action will be initiated against them“, added the CM.
Looks like it will be a big relief for movie-goers in the state.
