Filming for a number of movies, TV series, movies for OTT, and series has been on the rise in recent times.
Due to this, the demand for labor is high and there is a shortage of it at present. Due to the shortage of manpower, efforts are being made to recruit workers from the Outdoor Unit Tamil Nadu Technician Organization to rectify the situation.
Crisis by system
However, reports from FEFSI say that the technicians' organizations are forcing new entrants to pay up to 3 lakh rupees and forcing them to become members of their organization. Similarly, the FEFSI system is said to be giving crisis to those who can not afford not to attend the filming.
No social decision?
Negotiations have been going on for the past few days between FEFSI, the outdoor unit organization, and the producers' association. However, it seems that a smooth outcome has not been reached through these talks.
Due to this, the outdoor unit has decided to go on strike from June 1. About a thousand workers would be affected if they did not send equipment for the shooting. Similarly, the shooting of more than 200 movies, including web series, is said to be affected.
