Following the decline in Kalaignar Karunanidhi's health condition and his instability, theatre owners have decided to cancel shows for the rest of the day.
 

A select number of theatres in and around Chennai have reportedly decided to cancel the evening show, while most of the theatres in Chennai, Chengalpet, and Kanchipuram regions are going to cancel the night shows for today (August 7). We will have to wait for some more time to know if the theatres will function as per schedule for tomorrow (August 8).

When we contacted SPI Cinemas to know about their decision on this, they stated that they might cancel the shows, if there is an important announcement. The shows are going to run as per schedule, as per the current status. 

It should be noted that the TASMAC shops have been announced to be closed by 6 PM today. Meanwhile, police protection has also been strengthened outside Kauvery Hospital in Alwarpet.
