YouTuber Madan, who enjoyed a cult following of more than 7,00,000 subscribers, which included minor children, was arrested on June 18 from a hideout in Dharmapuri by the cybercrime wing. His wife, Kruthika too was arrested from Salem shortly before he was caught. He was booked under the Goonda's Act on July 6.
The investigation revealed that the couple had earned up to Rs 10 lakh per month and had bought luxury cars and bungalows from the money earned. But denying all allegations, Madan's wife Kruthika claimed that her husband never played PUBG and that they never saved all the money from playing the game for the last ten years.
Further, she said that they only possessed an Audi car and didn't have any other luxury cars. "Our bank accounts have been frozen and our house keys were with the Police," she added. The statement where she said that Madan didn't possess any luxury car despite owning an Audi A6 car, received severe flak on social media.
Post this viral statement, Madan told his wife that both the cars he has are of luxury brands. He also adviced her to not tell anyone that they are not luxury cars from now on. Both of them were present in the Chennai Collector's office when the coversation happened.
Madan received several complaints from people for objectifying women and having obscene conversations with them. Madan's YouTube channels have currently been blocked by the Chennai Cyber Crime police and the videos have also been removed.
