Ace director Bharathiraja is known for making some cult classics in his career. He has worked with the likes of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in a number of films. He also cast them together, in 16 Vayathinile. Now, in a recent interaction with the press, the legendary director was asked about his take on Kamal Haasan's decision to start a political party.

This is what he had to say; "Everybody has their own preferences. He wanted to start a party, he is starting. If you ask me why I didn't start a party, I will tell you that I didn't want to start a party, so I didn't. In a democracy, anybody can choose to do whatever they want. I decided to just remain as an artist, so I didn't even think about it. But they felt like they wanted to do something for the state, so they began a party."

He was also asked about whom he will be supporting when Rajini and Kamal enter politics. To that, he said, "Let them come. Once they come, they will announce their ideals and promises. At that time, whatever I like, I will support."
