The video released on March 9 by Hitesha Chandrani, a make-up artist and social influencer from Bangalore, said that a Zomato employee who had come to deliver food had attacked her and injured her nose, causing her to bleed.
Zomato officials, who were contacted immediately after seeing the video released by the woman, spoke in support of the woman and suspended the employee. The delivery employee, Kamaraj, was arrested following a complaint lodged by Hitesha with the Karnataka Police.
Kamaraj told the inquest that he had not assaulted the woman, he had asked the woman to return the food since it can't be given away for free, which is when she is alleged to have called him a 'slave' and thrown her sandals at him, according to the delivery boy.
Now the latest update is that Hitesha has been booked by officials and FIR has been registered against her. More details on the issue is awaited as to whether further proceedings have been initiated on Hitesha.
