Ilayaraja 75, is a music concert that is happening on the 2nd and 3rd of February at the YMCA ground in Chennai. The event is organised by Tamil Film Producer’s Council (TFPC). Various celebrities attended the first day of the event yesterday(2nd February).

A.R.Rahman, who attended the event yesterday, said that “Ilayaraja is my headmaster. I have learnt a lot from him. When I look at him, I’m amazed that a person can be like this too. We both have a bad habit, and that is music. Even when I’m awarded, Ilayaraja’s words of appreciation make me happy, because maestro’s don’t appreciate that easily, and when he appreciates, it’s because there’s real talent.”

Speaking about the Maestro of Music, TFPC president Vishal said “All countries will have Rajas (kings) to rule. But when it comes to music, there’s only one Raja, and that is Ilayaraja. He is the reason that long drives in cars are possible. People first check if they have Ilayaraja songs before checking to fill up their cars with Petrol. It’s indeed an honor to host this as Ilayaraja sir is not only a pride of Tamil Cinema, he’s a gem of the Indian industry. For all the mishap prior to this function, Ilayaraja had composed a song so many years ago. 'Enkitta Modhaadhey, na Raajadhi Rajanada, Vambukku Izhukkadhe, Na Veeradhi Veeranada'.”

Governor Banwarilal Purohit was also present yesterday, among the other guests. The second day of the program will take place today (February 3rd), and many guests like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan among the others are expected to take part in the musical extravaganza.
