In his recent interview with Behindwoods, director A.R.Murugadoss revealed that a section of the people from his crew, including him, were moved to tears while shooting an important scene in Sarkar.

"It was an emotional scene and I can't reveal much details about it as the film is yet to release. One shot from that scene was placed in the teaser. It is a scene that is inspired from the Tirunelveli incident, where a family of four people set themselves on fire, due to over debut

When we shot that sequence, everyone became emotional and even four to five people cried, including me. We were moved to tears. When someone immolates in fire, their brain would freeze in shock, and they'd become static without any movement. When I was explaining the scene to the actors and getting the needed performances from the actors, I was so disturbed.

The real life incident came into the picture. How terrifying and worse it should have been for the whole family? After completing that scene, no one saw each other's face, and a sense of silence prevailed on the set for sometime."
