Director Vetri Maaran's Vada Chennai, starring Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, Andrea, Samuthirakani, Ameer, Daniel Balaji, and others, in the lead roles is having a wonderful run at the box office. The film is being raved by the critics and the general audience.
In his promotional interview with Behindwoods, Vetri Maaran revealed that they cut down the runtime of Vada Chennai from 5.5 hours to 2 hours and 40 minutes. However, it looks like the film's International Festival versions had a slightly longer runtime of 3.5 hours.
Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, who was seen as the antagonist in Imaikkaa Nodigal, requested Vetri Maaran to release the uncut longer version of the film on digital streaming platforms like Netflix.
Anurag tweeted, "When i was in China and #vadachennai played there, i was told by the selectors that the 3 and a half hour version they saw was even better. Can we have the three and a half hour version exclusively on @NetflixIndia or somehow can we see that @VetriMaaran"
Earlier this morning, Anurag was all praise for the film who termed Vada Chennai as the most original gangster film he had ever seen.
