Simbu and Hansika are coming together for Maha, directed by U.R. Jameel and produced by Mathi Azhagan under the production company Etcetera Entertainment. The director had earlier dragged the production company to court, alleging that the film is being readied for an OTT release without his knowledge. He had sought an injunction on the same. He also alleged that several works on the film were completed without his knowledge.
Jameel also appealed in his plea that he hadn’t been paid his entire fee for the film. Additionally, the director demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for meddling in the film without his knowledge/approval.
When the petition came up for hearing before Judge Jayachandran, the producers' side agreed to pay Rs. 5.5 lakh that was due to the director and it was said that the director too had agreed to the same.
It was also informed that the producer is taking steps to release the film on OTT. Accepting this, the judge dismissed the petition seeking an interim injunction against the release of the film. Meanwhile, the judge adjourned the hearing to June 28, ordering both parties to file a written argument in the main case.
