Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has tweeted the controversy over the Hindi language.
After the huge success of KGF Chapter 2, actor Kichha Sudeep spoke about Pan-Indian films at an event. In it, he said, "Hindi is no longer a national language."
Actor and director Ajay Devgan has now responded to Kannada actor Sudeep's comment. In a tweet in Hindi, Ajay questioned why Sudeep dubbed and released his films in Hindi if Hindi was not our national language.
Ajay Devgan's Hindi tweet has been translated as, "@KicchaSudeep my brother, according to you if Hindi is not our national language then why do you release your mother tongue movies by dubbing them in Hindi? Hindi was, is and always will be our mother tongue and national language. Jan Gan Man."
A few days ago, Sudeep commented at the film launch. When asked about the success of a Kannada film in Pan-India, Sudeep said, “You said that a Pan-India film was made in Kannada. I would like to make a small correction. Hindi is no longer the national language. They (Bollywood) are making pan-Indian movies today. They struggle by dubbing (to see success) in Telugu and Tamil, but it doesn’t happen. But today we are making films that go everywhere. "
In recent months, the success of films like KGF2, RRR, Pushpa: The Rise has sparked this debate.
Post which, Ajay Devgn again tweeted, "Hi @KicchaSudeep, You are a friend. thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. I’ve always thought of the film industry as one. We respect all languages and we expect everyone to respect our language as well. Perhaps, something was lost in translation."
