The hot controversy that has been going on in Kollywood right now is the press note released by producer Michael Rayappan, who bankrolled Simbu's latest disaster venture, AAA. The producer, along with director Adhik Ravichandran, met the press last night and voiced out their concerns after incurring major losses from the film, which bombed at the box office. In the press note, the producer had boldly come out and put forth his allegations against the VTV actor and blamed him for the loss.
When we spoke exclusively to director Adhik, he said, "He is always like a brother to me. Personally, I have nothing against him. It is just work-wise. The film was planned with three characters and one other character as the suspense factor. We shot only for two characters, one in the first half and another in the second. We fixed locations in Bangkok for a don character that was supposed to come after the 'Madurai Michael' character.
Before we left for Bangkok, Simbu called me and said that he had seen some of the footage that we've already shot and that we should release this as a first part. I tried making him understand that it wouldn't work that way. But then he told me that I have to trust him as he is more experienced. I fully believed him throughout, even now we don't have any personal problems. Even two days back we spoke. It is just that calculation that he made, which backfired. The fans got disappointed, and for me too, I wanted to make a proper commercial action film, and it turned out to be a disaster."
When asked if he would do another film with Simbu, he said. "If another simple script comes up, I have told Simbu Annan that we can definitely do another film."
