Actress Kiara Advani is currently working on the Hindi remake of the 2011 Tamil blockbuster Kanchana. Titled Laxxmi Bomb, the film stars Akshay Kumar playing the male lead. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will also be playing an important role in the film.
Recently, the film's makers were hit by controversy when the director of the remake, Raghava Lawrence, opted out of the project citing creative differences as the director was not satisfied with the poster design of the film and the first look was released without his permission. After a series of talks with the producers and the film's lead actor Akshay Kumar, the differences were sorted out and the director had decided to helm the remake.
Speaking about the issue to a popular media outlet, the actress told she had hoped that director Raghava Lawrence will be back on board with the team since he knew the story better as he was the director and the actor of the original. The actress had also said that they had shot a schedule for the film and she found director Raghava Lawrence to be an amazing, wonderful human being. Kiara Advani also added that she is looking forward for the upcoming schedule.
Kiara Advani was last seen playing a cameo role in the Abhishek Varman-directed Kalank, which starred Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. She will be next seen reprising Shalini Pandey's role in the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
