Chinna Kalaivanar
Introduced by director K Balachander in Tamil cinema, Vivek was one of the brightest actors. Vivek was one of the leading comedians of Tamil cinema in the 90s and 2000s. The scenes in which he co-starred with fellow comedian Vadivelu are still celebrated today as Evergreen comedy scenes. He had acted in some films with his successors Santhanam and Suri. He was also affectionately known as the iconic actor for his role in social films.
Tree planting movement
Vivek, who had starred in a number of films as a protagonist and character actor, was also an environmental activist in public life, planting millions of saplings and spearheading the movement Green Global. He led the movement at the behest of the late former President Abdul Kalam.
Sudden death
Vivek died of a heart attack on April 17 last year. He was vaccinated for Coronavirus on April 15, the day before he died. Speaking to reporters after being vaccinated at the Omanthur Multipurpose Government Hospital in Chennai, actor Vivek said, "I was vaccinated at a Government hospital instead of going to a private hospital to raise public awareness about the Corona vaccine. I did not have any side effects after being vaccinated." But doctors said his death had nothing to do with the vaccine and that he could not be saved because his heart was weak.
Vivek's wife who first met
Vivek's wife Arulselvi has met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin and made a request. In it, she has requested that the road to actor's house in the Saligramam area of Chennai be named after him. Photos of the meeting have gone viral on the Internet.
