In accordance with earlier reports, Telugu actor Nithin and his sister Nikitha Reddy were accused in a case related to the 2015 film, Akhil. Gangadhara Satyanarayana, a Secunderabad resident had filed a case against the siblings, their father Sudhakar Reddy (also producer), and their production house Sresht Movies.
This case was filed stating that he had paid Rs.50 lakhs to acquire the rights for Akhil but the production house did not honor the deal. Nithin's lawyer then defended him saying that Nithin and Nikitha were included as accused only to pressurize their father and they were not a part of Shresht Movies in the first place.
It was later realized that the investment was made by a distributor from the USA, through the complainant and not by the complainant himself. The case has now been revoked, bringing relief to Nithin and Nikitha.
