Post the untimely demise of Bollywood’s talented hero, Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14 by suicide, there has been much debate on several topics which have been trending now and then on the Twitter space.
Following that, popular actress Kangana Ranaut created a storm on social media with her controversial statements which led to multiple reactions by several filmmakers, actors and actresses who have been sharing it on their Twitter handles.
The latest one is the critically acclaimed director, Anubhav Sinha who took to his Twitter page and shocked everyone as he announced his resignation from Bollywood. An agitated Anubhav tweeted, “ENOUGH!!! I hereby resign from Bollywood. Whatever the f*** that means.”
Backing his tweet, another filmmaker Sudhir Mishra tweeted: “What’s Bollywood? I came 2 be part of Cinema inspired by Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Ritwick Ghatak, Bimal Roy, Mrinal Sen, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, KAsif, Vijay Anand, Javed Akhtar, Tapan Sinha, Gulzar, Shekhar Kapur, Ketan Mehta, Bharatan n Aravindan etc. That’s where I’ll always be.”
Retweeting Sudhir, Anubhav wrote, “People, let’s go out of Bollywood. We will continue to work in Hindi film industry and make films. He quoted a line ‘Yeh lai apni lakuti kamariya bahutahin nach nachayo’ from a popular verse from a Hindi poem which means ‘take this, your sticks and blanket, you have made me dance a lot.’
Finally, Anubhav has changed his Twitter name, which now reads -Anubhav Sinha (Not Bollywood). For the unversed, the director is known for his recent hard-hitting works like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad.
