Bigg Boss Tamil season 5 started airing in Vijay TV in all glitz and glam on October 3 and 18 contestants from all walks of life entered the house in their own signature style. Isai Vani, Madhumita, Namitha Marimuthu, Abishek Raja, Priyanka Deshpande, Abhinay Vaddi, Pavni, Chinna Ponnu, Nadia Chang, Varun, Imman Annachi, Suruthi, Akshara Reddy, Iykki Berry, Thamarai Selvi, Cibi, Raju and Niroop went in to compete for the title.
While Transgender beauty queen Namitha Marimuthu walked out of the show during the first week due to unforeseen reasons, Model and social media star Nadia Chang was the first contestant to be eliminated from the week last week. Although many expected YouTube reviewer and Actor Abishek Raaja to compete in the game much longer, he was unexpectedly eliminated from the show on October 24.
After his eviction from the Bigg Boss house, Abishek released a statement on social media saying, "Bigg boss is a game and I played according to the rules of engagement. I was able to instigate a competitive spirit among the peers during tasks only because I developed an equation with each and every housemate. I put my longevity with the show at stake but I walked away with a satisfaction of staying real. If staying real is my ultimate testament, then that's how I run my show and my life too."
In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, Abishek said he's more than willing to get inside Bigg Boss once again if he was given the chance to be a wildcard contestant. Speaking about the videos speading on social media post his eviction, he said they're being presented out of context. "It's very stupid. I make a lot of videos on Kamal Haasan as I am his big fan. In that particular video, I was talking about season one contestant Oviya when fans were demanding that she be made CM while trending the hashtag #OviyaForCM."
Abishek described the show as a massive workload for the brain rather than using the word 'reality show' and revealed that it had taught him a lot about people outside the world, therefore opening up perspectives he's never seen before. He also reiterated that he hasn't seen the episodes from previous seasons and has not yet seen episodes from the current season. "Emotion-ku madhipu kodukkama safe ah aadra elarayum confront pani kathunadhu naala dhan na ipo velila iruken (I confronted all those contestants who were playing a safe game and didn't give respect to emotion. That is the reason I am out of the show now)," he said.
