RED HOT: ''I WILL COMMIT SUICIDE IN FRONT OF MANI RATNAM’S HOUSE''

A light man who goes by the name Manimaaran says he will go on a fast unto death strike at Valluvar Kottam, Chennai if he doesn’t get compensation for his medical expenditure that he incurred 10 years ago. Manimaaran worked as a light man in Mani Ratnam’s Guru.

When we spoke to Manimaaran on this issue, he said, “In 2006 during Guru’s shoot, I was affected by a blood-related infection. Since then, I have been trying to get a compensation for my medical expenses. But sadly I have not got any money from either the Lightmen Association or from Mani Ratnam’s team.

I even sued the Lightmen Association and got favourable decision from the court. But to even get back my claim amount of 2 lakh rupees, Raman (Secretary - Lightmen Association) asked 20,000 as a bribe. For the past 10 years, it is only my family that is taking care of me. Now I have made up my mind, if I am not going to get back my money, I will commit suicide in front of Mani Ratnam’s house.”
