Corpse Flower
This bizarre flower is known in the scientific world as Amorphophallus titanum. It belongs to the Arasia flower family. Botanists say the flower can grow up to 3 meters in height and bloom an average of 7 to 10 years.
It grows mostly in the mountain forests of Indonesia and the islands of Sumatra. This flower was invented in 1878 by an Italian. Since then, botanists have been interested in growing this exotic flower plant in various major colleges around the world.
Guinness World Record
The Buddhist corpse flower was one of the largest flowers in the world at the University of Bonn in Germany in 2003. For this, a grand ceremony was organized at the university and it was documented. The event is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. The flower is said to have grown 10 feet 5 inches in Germany. It is noteworthy that in the United States, the Buddhist corpse flower grew to a height of 10 feet 2 inches in 2010.
Stink
This rare flower, which has so many histories of its own, blows a strong stench when it blooms. Experts say that this flower smells like a corpse during flowering.
This corpse luteum is on the list of endangered plants worldwide and is being grown at a university in the state of Michigan in the United States. The plant is now in full bloom. The plant usually blooms within 10 years of germination and has started flowering here in 7 years. Despite the intense stench, people are eager to see this flower again.
