Srilankan Minister Roshan Ranasinghe resigns from his post suddenly - here's why!

Following this, the public staged a protest against the parliament building in the Sri Lankan capital. Now, Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has announced his resignation citing the current economic situation in Sri Lanka. He wrote in a letter to the President of Sri Lanka that it is painful for the public to stand in long queues to buy food items.

Roshan Ranasinghe has stated in a letter to the President that he will resign from the post of Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government and from the post of Polonnaruwa District Chairman of the Sri Lanka People's Alliance from May 01.
