Ingredients for life discovered for the first time outside Earth - details!
Home > News Shots > World newsAstronauts have discovered that an asteroid contains vital substances necessary for the human body. This is the first time that extraterrestrial substances have been found in the human body.
In the solar system, not only planets, including Earth, but also smaller, asteroids orbit the Sun. Asteroids that travel close to the Earth sometimes enter the Earth's atmosphere. Meanwhile, Japanese astronauts have been amazed to find various important objects in a meteorite that came to Earth from an asteroid.
Hyabusa2
The Hyabusa2 project aims to explore how the earth formed and how organisms evolved. Based on this, samples were taken from the asteroid Ryugu. Researchers have found that they contain amino acids, which are essential for life. The Japanese space agency Jaxa has confirmed that the asteroid Ryugu contains organic matter and 20 amino acids.
Amino Acids
Amino acids are basically molecules that make up proteins. These molecules are essential for the living beings because they help in food, growth, repair of body tissues and many other bodily functions. They are also a source of energy for the body.
The stone that first landed on Earth from the Ryugu asteroid was low in amino acids. Researchers say they may have been affected by the heat generated when the rock entered the atmosphere. In this case, the researchers confirmed the presence of more than 20 amino acids in asteroid samples through the Hyabusa 2 project.
Speaking on the occasion, Hisayoshi Yurimoto, Professor of Earth Sciences, said, "The Ryugu material is the most primitive material in the solar system we have ever studied. Ruygu is a CI chondrite asteroid, a type of stony carbon-rich asteroid with a chemical composition that is the most similar to that of the sun. These asteroids, rich in water and organic material, are a possible source of the seeds of life delivered to the nascent Earth billions of years ago."
The discovery of organic and amino acids for the first time outside of Earth has caused a stir in the world of space research.
