Dor Bahadur Khapangi hails from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The 17-year-old has been named the world's shortest man by Guinness World Records. Born on November 24, 2004, he is currently 73.43 cm (2 ft 4.9 in) tall. Dor Bahadur Khapangi's family says they are delighted to have been awarded a Guinness World Record by a Guinness World Record holder.

Born in 2004, Dor Bahadur Khapangi's parents work in agriculture. Born the last child in the family, Dor was initially healthy. However, after he reached the age of 7, his family noted with concern that his growth had stopped. After that, the family said that they did not see the benefit of seeing various doctors and said that they are now happy after a long day.

Speaking on the occasion, Dor Bahadur Khapangi's elder brother Nara Bahadur Khapangi said, "My brother is very happy to be in the Guinness Book of World Records."

The family of Dor Bahadur Khapangi, from Sindhuli district, 130 km southeast of Kathmandu, said, "Thor is studying at a nearby school. We hope this recognition he has now received will help his education."

Previous record

Earlier, Gajendra Taba Makar of Nepal was selected as the world's shortest young man. Born in 1992, Makar was 18.5 years old at 65.58 cm (2 feet 1.8 inches) and was certified by Guinness World Records. Since then, with the unfortunate death of Capricorn in 2020, Thor has now been selected as the world's shortest young man.
