Dan Parker from the United States lost his eyesight in an accident on March 31,10 years ago. Undeterred, however, he developed his skills by joining the Center for the Blind in Louisiana. Parker graduated from the center on March 31, 7 years ago, determined to succeed despite losing his sight.

Guinness World Record

March 31st

Dan Parker set the Guinness World Record on March 31, the same day he lost his eyesight 10 years ago. The initiative was launched by the National Federation of the Blind as part of the 'Blind Driver Challenge'.

In it, Parker drove the car at high speed with audio guidance. He said, "We have not only demonstrated that a blind person can operate a vehicle safely, but that we can do it at over two hundred miles per hour."

The Challenge for Blind Drivers has been running since January 2011. On the same day that he lost his sight, Parker's record for speeding car was a surprise to many.
