A woman named Chastity Patterson from the United States who sent text messages to her late father's mobile number every day has received a heartwarming reply from its new owner after four years.

On Thursday, Patterson wrote "Hey Dad, it's ME. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day again!", referring to the fourth anniversary of his passing. She went on to tell her love for her father and recapped some of the biggest moments in her life including college graduation, falling in love and beating cancer.

In an unexpected turn of events, Patterson received a reply from a man called Brad who had lost his daughter in an accident in 2014. Brad said that he had been reading her messages for the past four years and that he saw those texts as a "message from God."

“I'm sorry you lost someone so close to you, but I have listened to you over the years and I have watched you grow and go through more than anyone. I have wanted to text you back for years, but I didn't want to break your heart."

“You are an extraordinary woman and I wish my daughter would have become the woman you are. Take care and I look forward to your updates tomorrow.”  Brad wrote.
