Viral Video: Ever Heard of a 'Reverse Waterfall'? Video of the Spectacular Phenomenon Leaves Everyone STUNNED!
Home > News Shots > World newsThe torrential rainfall and wild weather in Australia led to a very strange yet spectacular natural phenomenon in Australia. At the Royal National park near Sydney, water flew backwards over a cliff instead of falling downwards.
The reverse waterfall phenomenon took place when the speed of wind was almost 70 kmph at the national park coastline. A video of this jaw-dropping incident was caught on camera and was posted to the Bundeena visitor site.
According to Daily Mail, the aerial footage captured two waterfalls which are close to the cliff top and the area is a part of popular coastal walk near Bundeena.
"70km/h gusts battering the Royal National Park coastline have resulted in the creation of spectacular reverse waterfalls as captured in this video," wrote Royal National Park on Facebook, sharing a link to the stunning footage.

According to news website Esquire, meteorologist say that this phenomenon occurs when the high winds come from the ocean and hit the cliff with a tremendous force that it pushes water back up the way it came.
“The town of Bundeena and nearby Maianbar faced minor flooding due to the weather. The town's main ferry service had to be cancelled due to large sea swells, while a large boulder slid onto the road due to heavy rain, blocking access to the waterfall. Locals have been encouraged to stay home,” NDTV stated in its report.
