Man serves 17 years in jail for crime his lookalike did; This is his compensation
Home > World newsIn a shocking incident in Kansas, US, an innocent man was jailed for 17 years for the crimes his lookalike committed.
Richard Anthony Jones was arrested in 1999 for a Walmart parking lot robbery case. Jones was jailed based on an eyewitness account. However, it was later found that the crime was done by a man who lived near the Walmart store and looked very similar to Jones. The actual criminal was found guilty during investigation.
Jones was pronounced innocent last year and was ordered to be released. Jones was also issued a compensation of $1 million and two years of counselling from the state.
