VIDEO: US President Trump Rejects Reports On Kim Jong Un’s Health, Calls It 'Incorrect'
Home > News Shots > World newsDays after showing concern over Kim Jong Un's ailing health, US President Donald Trump rejected reports that North Korean leader Kim was ailing. He also criticized cable news network CNN for reporting such a story.
During a recent briefing at the White House, when Trump was asked if he knew of Kim Jong Un’s condition, he replied saying, "I think the report was incorrect, let me just put it that way. I’m hearing they used old documents."
Further asking more details from US President, Trump did not want to comment much on it. He rather attacked CNN for it. “I think it was a fake report done by CNN,” Trump added at the briefing on the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier in the week, CNN reported that Washington was “monitoring intelligence” that Kim was in “grave danger” after undergoing surgery. While, Daily NK, an online media outlet run by North Korean defectors, said that Kim underwent a cardiovascular procedure earlier this month and was recovering at a villa in North Pyongan province.
The report also suggested that Kim, had to undergo the urgent treatment due to heavy smoking, obesity and fatigue.
Earlier in the week, when news about Kim's health hit headlines, Trump said that he had a “very good relationship” with the young leader and wished Kim “good luck.”
“I’ve had a very good relationship with him. I wouldn’t -- I can only say this, I wish him well, because if he is in the kind of condition that the reports say, that’s a very serious condition, as you know. But I wish him well,” Trump said.
Trump and Kim have met three times in historic summitry. US President has also voiced admiration for him for reaching a comprehensive agreement. Watch the video below:
