On August 17 (Saturday), a big explosion broke into the wedding hall in Kabul, Afghanistan. According to Sky News, 63 people have died while 182 were severely injured in the blast. Later, it was reported that the blasts were the result of ruthless “suicide attack” amidst the gathering of massive 1200 people inside the wedding hall.

“Devastated by the news of a suicide attack inside a wedding hall in Kabul. A heinous crime against our people; how is it possible to train a human and ask him to go and blow himself (up) inside a wedding?!!" (sic), Sediq Seddiqi, spokesman for President Ashraf Ghani was quoted as saying via his twitter handle.

Reportedly, it was learnt that the suicide attack was made against the Shiite Hazara Community and it is suspected that Sunni Muslim militants including the Taliban could be behind the attack since they have done it in the past years. 14 people were killed and 145 were reported injured in the blasts carried out by the Taliban three weeks ago in West Kabul.

The blasts have happened in the time where US and Taliban terror forces are in talks to make a deal according to which US troops are likely to withdraw from Afghanistan in exchange for a security guarantee from Taliban forces. According to the UN, the conflict between US and Taliban continues to take a horrific toll on civilians, with more than 3,800 - including 900 children - killed by the US and allied forces, the Taliban, IS and others last year.
